Ego 20 for a greener experience
After spending a lot of time researching the Power+ platform, Ego has launched a line of garden equipment that promises to be greener and quieter than its gas-powered rivals.
This Ego lawn mower review will focus on the most interesting aspect of the Ego 20. You will probably choose this lawn mower because it relies entirely on the battery. It comes with a 56-volt lithium-ion battery in four strengths, 4.0 Ah, 5.0 Ah, and 7.5 Ah. All three configurations include a fast charger. With moderate use, you can use this trimmer for about 45 minutes before the juice runs out, exceeding the charging time.
The lithium-ion battery is not only more environmentally friendly, but has another positive aspect: it reduces noise emissions. The Ego 20 promises to be 30% quieter than petrol models in its class, and LED headlights allow the Ego 20 to be used even at night.
The battery powers a 600W high-torque motor designed to match or exceed the power of a 3,300 rpm gasoline engine. You can easily start the Ego 20 by pressing a button.
Among the possible disadvantages we must mention the price, the Ego 20 is not cheap, and if you need an extra battery, this price increases even more. If you have a small lawn, this cordless electric lawn mower is definitely an ideal choice, but you probably won’t be able to tackle large areas in one go.
- waterproof design
- Good power for a cordless electric mower
- Five different height settings
- Much quieter than petrol mowers
- futuristic design
- 2 Cu. Ft. Nylon Pickup Bag
- Easy-to-install mulching adapter
- Probably not ideal for large lawns.
The Ego 20 is more environmentally friendly than any petrol mower and offers surprisingly strong power. If you have a small to medium sized lawn, this is definitely a good option. It’s hard to imagine mowing a larger lawn, especially in one sitting.
