Garlic has antibacterial and repellent properties against many garden plant pests, and like all plants of the Liliaceae family, it has a good sulfur content, so it can fight against certain fungal diseases such as powdery mildew. To take full advantage of these properties, you can make a decoction with garlic bulbs to vaporize the plants. Garlic decoction is a powerful natural antibacterial, it is not a biological insecticide as it has a repellent rather than a homicidal function, but it is still an excellent way to expel garden plant pests.

How to make a garlic decoction
The preparation of the decoction is very simple: you can use the smallest bulbs, which are less suitable for consumption and therefore practically useless. This preparation allows us to defend the garden without spending a euro on chemicals and in a completely natural way. As a dose you can consider 40 or 50 grams of garlic per liter of water, boil for 10-15 minutes and the decoction is ready. You can also toss the onion bulbs with garlic while cooking, another plant that effectively repels insects.
Use garlic decoction for garden plants.
The antibacterial preparation that we have obtained is used without dilution, it works best when the temperatures are not too high: from March to June then September, October and November. It can be sprayed with a simple sprayer like the one for glass products or for large gardens with the special treatment pump. It is sprayed on the plants as a preventive measure every 2-3 weeks, to drive away insects, in particular aphids and carrot flies. It is also used to treat bacterial diseases, in this case the treatment should be repeated after a few days.
macerated garlic
If you fancy garlic, you can also use it in maceration: take 100 grams of chopped bulbs and leave them for 24 hours in 10 liters of water. This preparation can also be used in the garden by spraying it on the plants as an organic insect repellent, although the decoction is more effective.
