More precision and less effort!
With its teeth reversed compared to a conventional saw, it cuts by pulling towards you and not by pushing: it therefore requires less effort and is very precise.
To make you discover this different but super effective model, here is my selection of best japanese saws !

Tajima MG300FB

A Japanese hacksaw! Although the Tajima MG300FB comes in a seemingly classic saw shape, it opts for the reverse teeth typical of so-called “Japanese” models. To offer an even more efficient cut, it is not satisfied with this specificity since its blade is also coated with fluorine. This allows it to offer better glide and total protection against rust, but also to prevent sawdust and even resin from sticking. Therefore, the work is effective in all circumstances, especially since the hardened teeth benefit from triple sharpening! This blade is also 300mm long, enough to be useful for a large number of tasks. The aluminum handle has an elastomer coating for more comfort, while its ergonomic design ensures a perfect grip and a controlled gesture, even for novice users.
My opinion : My favorite Japanese saw! I find this Tajima MG300FB totally successful, down to the smallest detail. It is as practical as it is precise, and even as solid as it is effective. The fact that the brand has opted for a “traditional” handle is a great idea: if this is your first saw of this type, you won’t mind using it at all. Attacking on wood is also even easier, just position the blade, pull towards you and go! It’s true that some models are even finer, but I have nothing to complain about the finishes, which are always very clean. And what’s more, if you use it so much that the teeth wear out, know that you can easily replace the blade. It is excellent and if I had to recommend only one, it would undoubtedly be this one!
Z-saw Dozuki H-150
Editor’s note: 4.5 / 5 | Reward : See the price on Amazon
For all precision work! The Z-Saw Dozuki H-150 Japanese saw has been specially designed to make meticulous cuts which must be as fine as possible. In addition to having a thickness of only 0.3 mm, its anti-scratch teeth are able to guarantee an extra-smooth finish on all types of materials. Even in bamboo, they make it possible not to break the fibers for a perfect result, which makes it particularly ideal for the creation or restoration of models. With a length of 150 mm, it also benefits from a reinforcement on the back which not only stabilizes it and reduces the risk of breakage: it also limits the possible depth of cut, always on target to be as precise as possible. For perfect control of the gesture, the handle is aligned with the blade. However, it remains very easy to handle, especially since the coating prevents slipping or skidding.
My opinion : If you are looking for a Japanese saw that can help you when you need to apply yourself, this Z-Saw Dozuki H-150 should interest you! In fact, it is not at all a model capable of cutting large pieces of wood: on the contrary, it shows all its power when it comes to cutting very small pieces perfectly. It offers impeccable finishes, in particular because with its reinforcement at the back which makes it rigid, it always remains straight and does not bend. I was also impressed by its very fine edge and its ease of cutting, and always very easily since a gesture towards you is enough. This is another saw that I think is excellent, the build quality is top notch and if you already see all the applications you could put it to, don’t hesitate, it won’t disappoint!
Wolfcraft 6951000
Editor’s note: 4 / 5 | Reward : See the price on Amazon
Ultra versatile! The Wolfcraft 6951000 is a Japanese saw which is distinguished by the presence of two series of teeth on each of its faces. The first, very thin, allows precise cuts while the second, wider, is perfect for faster cuts. Therefore, these two teeth make it possible to adapt to all tasks (wood, beams, laminates, baseboards, plastic pipes, etc.), especially since the tempered teeth are very strong and the blade is 270 mm long. Thanks to its great flexibility, this blade can also be used for flush sawing, which makes it even more practical and obviously always very precise (it is only 0.6 mm thick). The grip is guaranteed by a long ergonomic bi-material handle which benefits from the presence of a non-slip grip for optimal grip. Finally, note that the blade can be removed from the handle to save space during storage.
My opinion : This Wolfcraft is probably one of the best Japanese saws you can find. What I like most about this model is the presence of 2 rows of teeth for various uses. The wider ones still give a less clean result than the more closed ones, but to cut branches for example, there is no problem (especially since the length is more than enough). In addition, it has all the features you would expect from a model of this type, and in particular the flexible blade that allows you to cut flush in a horizontal plane, with precision, for perfect finishes. I also found it sturdy enough and of good quality to meet your household needs. At this price, you won’t find anything better!
