Often we have hanging pots at home. Either you see them in store and, inevitably, you fall in love with them. You take it home and start looking for a place to put it. But do you know how to hang flower pots on the wall?
On this occasion we want to focus on giving you ideas for hanging them. If you have a pot full of branches and leaves, you know how difficult it can be to put it on the wall without losing part of it (which must be crushed). Or maybe you have pots to decorate the wall but you don’t know how to do it. How about some ideas?

plastic bottle recycling
For some time, recycling has been the order of the day. Many are encouraged to give a second life to certain elements of the house. For example, use plastic bottles as pots or use paper rolls to organize cables so they don’t get tangled in drawers.
Well, in the case of pots hanging on the wall, you can use bottles. Imagine you have a liter or two. If you cut it in half lengthwise, you will get a container. This, with a few screws, you can fix it to the wall and, with it, place pots on it.
It has one advantage is that when you put it in, you have a watering hole and the water can hold. But at the same time it is a minus, especially if you go over the water, because then it will be more difficult to remove it.
creation of shelves
Another easy way to hang pots on the wall is to use shelves. But not the usual. We refer to take a board and attach it to the wall. It will be suspended in the air and will leave you space to put the pot down (pay attention to the weight).
Other ideas could be to use, instead of a wooden board, a log. If you have trees in your garden that you have removed, try dividing the trunk into small circles so you can hang them in the same way and place the pot on them. Of course, cut it a little so that it is well fixed to the wall and that there are no problems with instability.
With ropes and stand
Let’s move on to another much better known idea. It involves using a string system (on the Internet you can find macrame, with wood, with leather…) and hanging it on the wall. There are two options:
- Hang it as is and here it may happen that the pot develops only two-thirds (because the other, being fixed to the wall, does not receive light and can dry out there).
- Hang it with a bracket. The advantage of this way is that you separate the plant from the wall so that it can grow 100% and there are no problems with it.
With wire rings and hooks
Let’s move on to another idea for hanging pots on the wall. For it, You need a wire that you will have to shape into a ring with the pot you want to hang. Now you need these pots to have the top part wider than the bottom part so that if you put the wire in there is a stopper. If the pot is completely smooth, the wire will slip and fall (unless you put stops on it).
Once you have the wire in place, you will need to put a hook on the wall. It can be a catch, a hook or something similar where you can hang the wire and it does not move or fall.
Again you must have pay attention to the weight of the plant since if it is very heavy it is possible that it falls.
With brackets on the wall
In stores you can easily find brackets for hanging pots on the wall. Some are hangers, like the one we mentioned earlier, but there are others that are full racks, so you just put the potty on and that’s it (in fact, many come with a plate to better distribute the weight of it and also so that when watering the water does not fall from below.
The truth is that there are many models to choose from and they are generally not expensive (unless you choose one with many details, of course). It does require a bit of setup, but other than that, nothing more and they allow you to hang slightly heavier plants.
vertical planters
Continue with ways to hang pots on the wall and in this case we have looked at vertical planters. They have the advantage of giving you several holes, so with a simple installation you could put several plants in the same article instead of going one by one.
There are several types. Some in wood (or with pallets), others in lighter fabric, etc. It will depend on what you want to use one or the other. In addition, do not take your purchase lightly, but weigh the pros and cons of each before choosing.
With mesh or wires
Using a trellis or a wire wall can give you exactly what you need for hanging planters. Especially for pendants since you can use the irons or the trellis design to put hooks and from there hang the pot (This can be with its clip or by making a few small holes to be able to fix it).
Of course, it is possible that it is inclined, so this must be taken into account when watering, because the water will come out more easily without having watered the plant well.
With wall pots
The wall pots have a special design because in the area where they stick to them they are flat, so that they can be fasten with a hook, eyelet or similar and make sure they will fit perfectly (they won’t move with the wind, as can happen with others).
Yes, it’s true that they are more expensive than the normal ones, but you have several models, small pots, medium pots, planters, etc.
As you can see, there are many ways to hang pots on the wall. You just have to choose the method that you like the most or that suits you best and implement it. Do you dare to do it? Let us know how it goes or if you have another way to do it.
