Totally versatile, the DeWalt SDS-plus hammer drill operates in 3 different modes: it is capable of driving and drilling, but as it also has a rotation stop, it can chisel at the same time. Ideal for moving quickly around a construction site, its efficiency is also ensured by a 400 W motor and a striking power of 2.1 joules, which allows it to reach up to 1,200 rpm and 4,500 strokes / minute. (Drilling capacity in concrete is 20mm, in wood 26mm.) To ensure comfort of use, it has a low vibration rate and weighs only 3kg so it is always easy and pleasant to use. The positioning side handle is also included.) 18 V and wireless, it finally works thanks to 2 batteries of the 4 Ah type which give it approximately 1 hour of autonomy.
My opinion : Of all the cordless rotary hammers I’ve tried so far, I can say that this DeWalt SDS-plus is my favorite. It is always a pleasure that I use it on my construction sites, whether for small renovations or more important works. The result is there, without having to force the machine! I also like that it’s a fairly light drill – that makes it more maneuverable and easy to use anywhere, one of the main purposes of cordless. In addition, it is equipped with quality batteries, and with a few more games, it runs easily during the day. For this price, the charger, the batteries and the case are included, and as it is a very good kit, I recommend it without hesitation!
Makita SDS-plus
Editor’s note: 4.5 / 5 | Reward : See the price on Amazon
The Makita SDS-plus works with a 36 V motor powered by 2 x 18 V batteries whose amperage can be chosen between 1.5 Ah and 5 Ah. With a rotation speed of up to 1,200 RPM and an impact rate of up to 4,800 BPM, this cordless drill is just as effective at drilling as it is chiselling, allowing for multiple uses on a worksite. In concrete it is also capable of drilling up to 26 mm (32 mm in wood and 13 mm in metal). If obviously your SDS-plus system facilitates the change of accessories (without having to use another tool), this is not the only element that contributes to its ease of use. The vibrations that reach the handle are considerably reduced thanks to a body divided into two parts.
My opinion : What I immediately noticed when using this Makita drill is how powerful it is! At 2 x 18V, it’s one of the most efficient I’ve gotten my hands on, and I’ve been quite impressed with how well it drills into a variety of materials. Makita is also a brand that I appreciate for the robustness of its tools, and this is still the case with this drill. In the wireless category it is not the lightest (4.6 kg with batteries) but it makes up for it with a good grip, low vibrations and nice options like the LED which lights up the area where you work. Keep in mind, however, that the reason the price is so attractive is that the batteries are not included. But this model is nonetheless a very good cordless drill that has something to please both professionals and DIY enthusiasts of quality equipment!

Quite compact and not too heavy (4.5 kg), it also offers optimal grip thanks to the non-slip surfaces of the two handles, while integrating LED lighting for good visibility of the work area. Thanks to a speed variator, the primer is finally mastered for clean and precise results, whatever the surface or the material.
My opinion : With this Bosch Professional drill I would say that we are in a good quality/price ratio. Although it is not the most powerful in this category, I found its efficiency far from ridiculous and it really knows how to be useful in different types of work, whether it is to break wires or even quickly remove tiles. Especially since it is well designed, rather practical and benefits from the solid manufacturing of the brand. And if at this price it obviously does not include batteries or charger, it is nonetheless very interesting, especially for professionals who already have compatible batteries. If you are a construction tradesman and drilling/chiseling is not one of your main tasks, this cordless drill may be for you!

And I have to say that while I’ve obviously tried more powerful chisel drills, this one does it really well.
