Sprouting the avocado pit

Cover with cling film and make a few small holes so that it can breathe but, at the same time, act as a greenhouse.
It is not necessary to give it light, just leave it in a place where it has germinated in 40-50 days (if it has not and continues the same way, it it may not come out). But it will take less time than it takes to root with the water method.
When it already has roots, you can put it in water without any problem.
Pick the perfect time
It’s not the same to want to sprout an avocado bone in winter as it is in spring or summer. During these two seasons, with a temperature between 15 and 30 degrees, the tree is active (and the seeds too) which facilitates its faster growth.
Therefore, whenever you can, start sprouting bones in February, March or April (depending on the weather in your area). If you already have a tree, you can increase its growth rate with a graft.
These will help the tree grow faster and shorten the time it takes to fruit.
Knowing that there are avocados all year round, you’ll have no trouble waiting for the perfect time to do so. And if the plant is already formed and you are going to buy it in the nursery, then it is better to wait until spring or summer, because in this way you will avoid too sudden changes in temperature (even if you buy it in your own city ).
