ROA= (profit / asset)*100
If the value is positive, it means that the investment has been adequate and what you have planted is one of the most profitable crops you can choose. But if it is negative, then you have a problem, because you will lose money.
What are the most profitable crops?

olive
If you have a more or less large plantation, planting olive trees can be one of the best options, especially since Spain is the main producer and exporter. AND It does not matter if it is table olives (the ones we eat) or to prepare olive oil (keep in mind that this is usually expensive). A total of 1,270,000 tons of olives are produced annually in the country, with Andalusia being the place where there is the greatest production.
Based on this, there is no doubt that olive trees can be a good option, especially if you apply the super intensive system, which increases production.
Almond
You wouldn’t have thought of that, would you? However, for some time there has been a high demand for this fruit, and it is therefore one of the most profitable crops in Spain (it was in 2022 and it will be in 2023).
Besides, There isn’t as much competition either, especially since we don’t have as much demand (although that seems to be changing already). Keep in mind that currently Spain is the third country in terms of production and the second in terms of exports.
Pistachio
And we have nuts left, because another of the most profitable crops you could consider is pistachio, which has been in increasing demand in recent years.
Of course, unlike other crops, this one is something more “special” and needs the right conditions to be able to grow it and not die along the way. This is why, for now, only California and Iran are the largest producers and distributors.. But if you can give it these conditions, know that it has a fairly high price per kilo (just half a hectare and 1,000 kilos of pistachios can bring you around 6,000 euros).
