Yard Machines 140cc 21 Inch Push Mower – A Solid Push Mower from MTD
The Yard Machines range of products are manufactured by MTD, an Australian company. They are known for producing user-friendly equipment. Although the tools are not feature-rich, they are extremely durable and reliable.
The Yard Machines 21-inch 140cc push mower is an entry level mower at a competitive price. It is probably one of the cheapest lawn mowers on the market. However, that price doesn’t mean the machine is inefficient, it just doesn’t have too many features. If you’re looking for an all-purpose lawnmower, this probably isn’t the gardening tool for you. This is definitely a no frills mower as it has no grass bag and does not fit.
It’s clearly a deal breaker for many, but if you’re happy with a bagless mower, the Yard Machines 140cc is probably one of the best and cheapest options you can find. The mower is powered by a 140cc engine, like most small push mowers. The four-stroke engine offers good power and is also surprisingly quiet.
The machine is equipped with a 20 inch steel cutting deck suitable for small to medium sized lawns. It has standard ball control and recoil, and replacement parts are pretty easy to find. As for the downsides of the mower, we’ve already mentioned the bag, but that’s not the only potential problem. The mower also comes without the currently popular mulching feature.
Wheel size can also be an issue, the front and rear wheels are 7” in size which is not ideal for handling. No Yard Machines lawn mower review would be complete without the pros and cons:
