For the preparation of Bordeaux mixture it is necessary to buy Copper sulphate and slaked lime (calcium hydroxide). It should be applied before the mushrooms arrive in the spring.

No serves us the active lime unless you apply 70% less product, which is complicated to calculate because of the pH. That’s why we recommend doing it directly with slaked lime. Moreover, it is not recommended calcium carbonate or agricultural lime.

The slaked lime must be fresh. Containers that have been open for a long time should not be used, as they lose their ability to neutralize copper sulphate and we can burn the crop.

It can be done in cold water or in hot water if the sulphate comes in large stones. But we must never wait from morning to afternoon or from day to day, but it must be in the moment.

The dose of 1% Bordeaux mixture that would be 10 gr. of copper sulphate – 10 gr. of slaked lime in a liter of water.

An important factor is that the pH of the mixture must be 7it is therefore necessary to put lime first and gradually apply the sulphate until the pH is at 7. stir must be with a wooden or plastic stick.

At the end of the mixture, you must mix this liter of Bordeaux mixture with another liter of water and must be applied within 3 hours.
